2009 Baseball Youth Road Trip FANFEST - WEST TOUR Galleries

May 23, 2009 - All-American Slugfest - Noblesville, Indiana : 2009 Baseball Youth West Tour started with a bang in Noblesville, Indiana at the All American Slug Fest! The location and weather really allowed us to have a great first day and the kids had tons of fun in the sun. We only spent one night in Indiana so we didn’t have much time to check out the sites and see what they have to offer but we are excited to be returning to Indiana this coming weekend.

The parents we very interested in all the new products that Louisville Slugger and Shock Doctor had out there. We weren’t even able to get all the Louisville Slugger bats out of bags before they were asking to try them out and use them in their games. Colton was waiting in line for shock doctor and hit 2 homeruns and then turned right around and hit a homerun in his real game. There was an never-ending line for a turn to spin the wheel to win all kinds of great prizes and the boom of the thunder sticks lasted all day long!

Next stop, Chi town! We can’t wait to see what kinds of fun there is to be had! It’s Brian’s first time in the windy city we will definitely be doing some site seeing. Stay in touch with the Wild Wild West tour online at baseballyouth.com!

May 24, 2009 - Stars and Strikes Memorial Classic - Chicago, Illinois : Next on our tour is Chicago and we quickly learned why they call it the windy city! We still managed to have a blast hanging out with the players and their friends at the Stars and Strikes Memorial Classic. We couldn’t agree with Michael more who, while playing Shock Doctor game said , “This is totally wicked, best day ever!!”

During the day we had kids dying to see if they could throw the ball through the D in the Disney XD game and waiting for a chance to play Topps Attax! JaRon won six Topps Attax games in a row before finally being defeated by his older brother who won by one run in an extra inning, he said, “This was the coolest game he had ever played!” Renting the Louisville Slugger bats was a BIG hit as well, the Titans rented three Louisville Slugger bats and run ruled their opponents all three games. When they returned the bats they couldn’t wait to tell us how those bats won the game for them!

We will be in Chi town a few more nights, we have so many sites to see and are planning not only going to the Willis Tower (formally Sears Tower) but we also are planning on going to the zoo to reconnect with our inner child, we can’t wait!! Continue to check out our stops at baseballyouth.com!

May 29, 2009 - USA Shamrock Classic - South Bend, Indiana : The wild wild west tour presses on to South Bend Indiana for the USA Shamrock Classic! We zipped up our jackets and despite the cold weather witnessed the kids get really excited about Disney XD! It’s safe to say that every kid was wearing Disney XD eyeblacks while making noise for their team with the thunder sticks! Jake, age 12, said, “I’m so pumped to send this Zeke and Luther postcard to my mom because she couldn’t make the tournament!”
As we were snapping pictures of the kids and all the stuff they had won, Matt asked, “what all the pictures were for?” We told him we were going to be putting them up on baseballyouth.com and he quickly ran over to his team to tell them they were going to be on the website and that they would definitely have to check it out!
As for South Bend is concerned, we didn’t stay long but we did have a chance to stop by Notre Dame and visit the fighting irish. Kari was really looking forward to meeting Rudy and was greatly disappointed when the boys told her that there was no way that would be possible…
Next stop, Wisconsin Dells, we are hoping this will be yet another great tournament! Make sure you check out baseballyouth.com to see all the pictures and fun!

May 31, 2009 - Wisconsin State Game - Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin : The Baseball Youth Roadtrip made its way to Wisconsin Dells, WI for the Wisconsin State Games on Saturday. The crew enjoyed the beautiful scenic drive from South Bend, IN which was close to a 9 hour trip!

The Chicago Giants seemed to be the hit of the tournament when their 11U and 12U teams both made the championship games. Malik, a 5’10” player who just turned 12, rented the Louisville Slugger Triton and hit a homerun to left-center that was probably about 350 ft.!!

The kids, players and parents kept our interactive fanfest busy all day! We had parents playing TOPPS Attax with their sons while their friends were in line to spin the wheel that had all sorts of goodies on it.

Crew member, Justin, put on the brand new catchers gear and challenged the players to get the ball by him and into the Disney XD cutout. It was a great time and everyone enjoyed it.

We’re off to Rockford, Il for another gameday event on Friday and Saturday. Check out the pictures on BaseballYouth.com!

June 5, 2009 - CABA Illinois State Championships - Rockford, Illinois : The Tribe Called West traveled to Rockford, Illinois on Friday to catch the late afternoon start to the CABA Illinois State Championships. Although it was a slow start, kids of all ages were soon running to the games that the fan fest provided to collect Topps and Upper Deck baseball cards! At one point the entire Naperville Renegades squad stormed the bat rack to check out the hottest new 2010 Louisville Sluggers! The kids and parents were pleased to hear that the tour would stay in Rockford on Saturday as the West crew was just as eager to start the festivities bright and early the next morning.

Kids and players couldn’t wait for the fun to start Saturday morning as the West crew pulled up to the park. It didn’t take long for the lines to fill up for the Disney XD pitching chute or the Shock Doctor hitting game. Jeremy, age 5, threw 6 balls in a row at the chute while his brother, Jason, hit 4 homeruns on the day!

Despite showers at noon, the kids wouldn’t budge as the madness only grew! This was the last event hosted by Game Day USA for the West crew and it turned out to be a huge success. The Game Day USA crew was nothing but helpful for all of us, and we’re looking forward to working with them in the future.

The crew keeps rolling out West as they continue the tour Sunday in Rock Island, IL for the USSSA 2009 Redbirds Classic NIT! Make sure you check out www.BaseballYouth.com for future pictures of our next stops!

June 11, 2009 - Triple Crown Omaha Slumpbuster - Session 1 - Omaha, Nebraska : The crowd at Omaha Slumpbuster was more than we could have envisioned! Kids were going crazy trying to win the baseball cards of all of their favorite players. The line at the spinning wheel was backed up further than the eye could see and the Shock Doctor tent was filled with players and their parents checking out the new protective cups and mouth guards.
Thursday time flew by playing games with the kids and talking to the parents about the 2010 Louisville Slugger bats. With the festival-feel all around we couldn’t have been more happy with the outcome of the day.
Since there were no games on Thursday people were lined up first thing in Friday morning to rent to bats for the games. The Louisville Slugger bats seemed to give them the confidence they needed to succeed. Later in the day we found ourselves caught in the rain but that didn’t slow us down, we just took the kids out to play in the mud! We haven’t seen the kids have that much fun with Disney XD throwing game or Shock Doctor the whole trip!
Continue to follow a tribe called West and check out pictures from our next stop on www.BaseballYouth.com! We’ll see you out there!

June 13, 2009 - USSSA Road to Omaha NIT World Series - Omaha, Nebraska : The kids at the USSSA Road To Omaha NIT World Series went crazy for Topps Attax as they made up additional rules for the game and those rules spread like wild fire! We had teams running to get back to the tent to play after their games, even parents and coaches joined in!
The kids and their parents were more than thrilled that they could rent the bats to try them out from us and then turn around and buy a new one from Louisville Slugger for their next game!
Disney XD thunder sticks were a HUGE hit, Rebecca said, “I love these because I can use them to cheer for my brother and his team!” XD stickers covered kids shirts, shorts and shoes as they finally left for the day!
We are headed to a tournament in Lincoln tomorrow and are pumped to hang out there for the day! Make sure you check out those pictures on baseballyouth.com! Until next time…

We had kids fighting in line to see if they could make three balls through the Disney XD and a line that never ended for Shock Doctor! Even the tournament director, Sonny, made time to plays some games!

Chole, from Hallam, was our best helper yet! She took charge of all the line cutters and stayed with us until every last thing was in the trailer! We would like to send a BIG thanks to her for all her help! New Era hats seemed to be getting a lot of attention too, everyone wanted to try one on and figure out their size!

The fun didn’t stop with Disney XD and Shock Doctor, Topps Attax never seemed to be empty! Kids love playing it and parents love the idea of it! Disney XD was a popular favorite on the spinning wheel and Zeke and Luther were two names heavy on the lips. We have a lot of fun challenging kids to see if they could live up to their playing level!

Shock Doctor had people talking about the new titanium cup, and how it would perform on the field. Sean said, “Getting a home-run is always exciting but when you are winning a prize its even better!” Needless to say he hit four that day!

June 26, 2009 - Super Series Eastern Oklahoma State Championship - Broken Arrow, Oklahoma : The Baseball Youth Road Trip west tour made their first stop in Broken Arrow today at the Super Series Eastern Oklahoma State Championship. Even with the temperature of 103 degrees kids still rushed to the fan fest to enjoy the interactive games. The Disney XD throwing game was a huge hit. Tyler, age 9, was the most impressive as he threw the ball through the hole nine times in a row!

The Louisville Slugger tents provided shade as well as kids in disbelief that we were renting the bats out for free. Over at the Backyard Baseball station Jeremy, age 10, beat Brian, one of the west tour members, with a walk off homerun. He was so excited that he even said, “This is the best videogame ever created!”

June 27, 2009 - USSSA OKL State Tournament - Owasso, Oklahoma : The Baseball Youth Road Trip west headed to Owasso, Oklahoma today for the USSSA Oklahoma State Tournament. Players came from all over the area to participate in this very competitive tournament, but when the players were not in the game it was clear that all they wanted to do was compete in the interactive games provided by the fan fest.

One of the favorites was the Topps Attack card game. Jamie, age 7, was quite the card shark as he won five straight games in a row! In addition, kids at the Disney tent were in shock when they found out that all the goodies were free, and almost every child and parent there wanted to take a New Era baseball cap home!

July 4, 2009 - Chickasha, Oklahoma - USSSA Global World Series : The Baseball Youth Roadtrip made it’s way to Chickasha, OK for the USSSA Global World Series on July 4th. The beautiful 10 field complex was filled with all sorts of sport fields, concession stands and playgrounds. As usual the crew had a great set-up for all the teams, kids, parents and coaches to enjoy.

Kids were immediately drawn in by the 2010 Louisville Slugger gear and bats that we had to promote and demo. As they made their way around the fanfest experience, they found the spinning wheel where a line formed almost instantly. Jeremy from a local Chickasha team was ecstatic because he landed on the Louisville Slugger poster his first spin and Derek Jeter was his favorite player!

After the kids realized that the Disney and ShockDocter interactive games were free, they didn’t stop till they won. Needless to say the Roadtrip crew left those kids and parents with countless smiles. Our next stop is in Tulsa, OK where we hope to do the same thing! July 8, 2009 - Tulsa, Oklahoma - CABA National Championship Great Plains : The Baseball Youth Roadtrip went back to Tulsa, OK for the CABA National Championship Great Plains for the opening ceremonies for another great tournament. The festivities included a cookout and skills competition along with a Home Run Derby.

Unfortunately the rain in the early morning soaked the fields and they weren’t able to do the skills competition/Home Run Derby. But this didn’t stop the teams from coming out to the cookout and enjoying the Baseball Youth fanfest experience!

All teams showed up in their jerseys and shorts ready for some good food and great fun. The kids saw the PS2’s and Nintendo Wii and ran as fast as they could to play Backyard Baseball. The one’s that weren’t lucky enough to get the first turn immediately went to the Disney XD cut out to try to show each other up to see who could make it through the most times. The ShockDoctor hitting game quickly formed a line as well. Nicole, a sister of one of the boys in the tournament, showed everyone up as she hit a home run and won a hat then went over to the Disney game and threw 3 in a row in the “D” for countless baseball cards, stickers, and a couple postcards. The parents were joking around and said she should be on the team too!

The kids and players had a blast even though they didn’t get a chance to get on the field and show their true skills. The Baseball Youth Roadtrip will continue on in Manhattan, KS for what hopes to be another excellent tournament! Make sure and stay posted to www.BaseballYouth.com for pictures from our next events!

July 10, 2009 - Manhattan, Kansas - NBC Kansas State 9U Championship : We started the day with a bang in more ways than one, at the NBC Kansas State 9U Championship. Once the storm passed the crowds started flowing in! We had so much fun with the kids at this tournament challenging them to a game of Backyard Baseball, Topps Attax, and even spinning the wheel! The parents were quite impressed with our setup and were just as into it as the kids!

They had question after question about the 2010 Louisville Slugger bats and many took advantage of the free rentals to see how their kids liked the bats in a real game! The kids love trying on the New Era hat of their favorite team as well!

Disney XD stickers were a popular favorite on the spinning wheel, the stickers really get the kids talking about Zeke and Luther! Sam said, “Zeke and Luther is such a funny show, I just love it!”

July 11, 2009 - NBC Kansas State 11U Championship - Great Bend, Kansas : Wild Wild West tour is having fun despite the heat in Kansas at the NBC Kansas State 11U Championship! The parents are bringing a whole new level of fun to our tour! Moms are hitting more home-runs at Shock Doctor than their sons and are making sure everyone knows it! After hitting a few “out of the park” they had many questions about the merchandise and were excited that this was available for them to purchase online.
Disney XD always brings a challenge as we make them move back further each time they throw! Scott said, “ this game was super easy but now that I can’t make it I want to play forever!” Getting stickers and eye-black as a prize on the wheel the kids loved getting Disney XD so they could wear eye-black in their games!
Louisville Slugger bats we used by many winning teams and parents enjoyed being able to look, hold and ask questions about the gloves before buying them online! Topps Attax was another big hit, the kids played for what seemed like forever and didn’t stop until their parents made them leave! Make sure you follow us to our next stop at baseballyouth.com! July 12, 2009 - Topeka, Kansas - NBC Kansas State 12U Championship • : Another day in the heat but that didn’t slow us down at the NBC Kansas State 12U Championship tournament in Topeka, Kansas! The Stix had a great time playing Backyard Baseball in-between their games and tried to convince their coach it should count as a warm up when they threw the balls through the Disney D! Kids were waiting in line to try to hit a home-run and when 6 year old Elizabeth was the only one to make it in all the boys became more determined!
The line to win Disney XD stickers, posters, Topps cards, and Upper Deck cards was endless! We had tons of fun handing out all this stuff because the kids act like its Christmas and the smiles on their faces it awesome! The parents love that we are out here as well and ask us tons of questions about who we are and about all of our sponsors!
Louisville Slugger gear was looked at by almost everyone who walked by and the bats were rented like crazy! Steve, a coach of the Patriots said, “I am so glad my kids can try these bats out before their parents spend a lot of money on a new bat!” After their games were over they were eager to tell us about their big win and thanked us for coming to the tournament many times!

July 21, 2009 - Triple Crown World Series - Steamboat Springs, CO :  Triple Crown World Series was an absolute blast! We had a great time playing games with the kids and talking to parents about bats, cups, and gloves! The kids had so much fun playing Topps Attax and even had a chance to teach their parents a thing or two. The tables were filled and people around were cheering on their friends!
Disney XD, Zeke and Luther is always popular but the kids couldn’t stop talking about the new show! It seems to very swiftly become a new favorite of many and Brenda, Zack’s mom said, “That show has sparked a new skate boarding the interest, he loves it!” Shock Doctor sliding shorts seem to be quite popular as well, with many kids parents looking to buy them for their child’s next tournament!
Louisville Slugger had quite the day with bats, we rented out almost every single one and the Bulldogs who rented 3 bats won their game when Tyler hit a homerun with the Triton! They didn’t want to part with the new bats that gave them such good luck and were thrilled they had the chance to try them out!
