The Central Crew made its way back to Southaven, Mississippi to be a part of the Dizzy Dean World Series. We were a part of the opening ceremonies and it was packed! There were thousands of people, all eager to see what kind of stuff we had to give out. The excitement that the fanfest brought to this event was evident from the start.
We had kids lined up at the MLBPA wheel from the second the gates opened until the second we had to close down. Everyone was having a great time winning packs of Topps and Upper Deck cards. We gave away buckets of cards to happy fans.
At Little League World Series, the Wii games were out of control. People could not wait to get their hands on a remote and a chance to try out the 2009 version of the game.
The coaches were licking their lips when they saw the new 2010 Slugger Bats that were looking new and shiny on our bat racks. They were thrilled to hear that we’d let their players try them out in the following day’s games.
At Disney, we played the wiffle ball throwing game from 30 feet away. These kids were so good that it didn’t seem to matter. They were throwing ball after ball through the target with ease.
