The Baseball Youth Roadtrip went back to Tulsa, OK for the CABA National Championship Great Plains for the opening ceremonies for another great tournament. The festivities included a cookout and skills competition along with a Home Run Derby.
Unfortunately the rain in the early morning soaked the fields and they weren’t able to do the skills competition/Home Run Derby. But this didn’t stop the teams from coming out to the cookout and enjoying the Baseball Youth fanfest experience!
All teams showed up in their jerseys and shorts ready for some good food and great fun. The kids saw the PS2’s and Nintendo Wii and ran as fast as they could to play Backyard Baseball. The one’s that weren’t lucky enough to get the first turn immediately went to the Disney XD cut out to try to show each other up to see who could make it through the most times. The ShockDoctor hitting game quickly formed a line as well. Nicole, a sister of one of the boys in the tournament, showed everyone up as she hit a home run and won a hat then went over to the Disney game and threw 3 in a row in the “D” for countless baseball cards, stickers, and a couple postcards. The parents were joking around and said she should be on the team too!
The kids and players had a blast even though they didn’t get a chance to get on the field and show their true skills. The Baseball Youth Roadtrip will continue on in Manhattan, KS for what hopes to be another excellent tournament! Make sure and stay posted to
