The Baseball Youth Roadtrip traveled to Aberdeen, MD for the Ripken World Series. This was a great experience for us, let alone the players involved. There were teams from across the country there as well as across the world. From Japan to Mexico to Australia to California to Kentucky, players and families joined together to participate in this awesome tournament. Those were just a few of the many teams that were involved in the World Series.
The Baseball Youth setup became more popular each day as the word got out that we were giving away free Topps and Upper Deck baseball cards and a chance to play Backyard Baseball. By championship Saturday you couldn’t look out in the crowd without seeing every other person with a set of Airhead thundersticks making noise for their teams!
The championship game was as good as it gets. Jupiter, FL defeated Lexington, KY to move to the championship game to face the defending champions of Mexico. The players definitely gave a championship performance as it went into extra innings where in the bottom of the 7th inning, Jupiter hit a 2-run walk-off homerun to win the World Series. It had to be an unbelievable feeling for him and his team as they are now the Cal Ripken World Series Champions.
The Baseball Youth Roadtrip had an unforgettable time and we can’t wait to go back next year. As for our summer roadtrip, we will be taking a little break before we get back at it. So be sure to keep checking our website, Baseballyouth.com, to find out what our next stop is!
