It seems like a storm cloud follows the East tour crew around. After getting rained out completely in West Virginia we headed to West Chester, Ohio for the Cincinnati Flames Summer Classic. The sun was bringing the heat for our first day, but the wind was still there blowing all of our gear around. That didn’t stop us though, as we still accomplished what we went there to do…have a blast with all the kids!
We handed out so many Topps and Upper Deck cards, and Airheads candy we thought we might actually run out. Kids couldn’t get enough of spinning the big wheel for a chance to win some awesome prizes. And even when the wind starting blowing over our tents, the kids threw in a hand and helped us regroup.
The sun wasn’t the only thing heating up our area, all the teams came by with so much energy and excitement for what we had to offer; we had to fan them down! There was some awesome Backyard Baseball Tournaments going on and my boy Mike from the crew even got beat in Airheads Cornhole for the first time this summer!
The second day of the tourney brought some nasty rain all day, but we still found some spots of sunshine to set up and have fun with the kids. We showed them all the new Louisville Slugger gear, and played some awesome games with the baseball cards we were handing out to them.
Bad weather can’t get our crew down, and the kids of the West Chester tournament have the testimonies to prove it. We are headed to another tournament in Ohio tomorrow, where we hope to continue the great fun we have had so far.
