As the 2008 Baseball Youth Road Trip officially got underway, our east coast crew hit the road, leaving our home in Kentucky for Cincinnati, Ohio. We got to the park right as the sun came up, with the morning dew fresh on the ground, and started setting up all the cool and fun events we have in store for the kids this year.
We found a great place to call home for the day’s events at the Matt Maupin Memorial Tournament. Before we could even finish setting up kids were all over our tents wanting in on all the action Baseball Youth has to offer. The weather was perfect with hardly a cloud in the sky; you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful day and start to this year’s tour!
As the day progressed kids jumped from booth to booth filling up on airheads, and baseball cards. During the entire day you couldn’t keep the kids eyes off the new 2009 Louisville Slugger equipment as they tried out the new gloves and used some of the new bats in their games. There wasn’t a frown among the crowd as all the kids enjoyed all Baseball Youth had to offer, some fans even helped out our crew handing out free Airheads candy and running games with everyone.
What a great start to the tour, and great baseball atmosphere in Cincinnati. We had a lot of fun with the kids at the tournament and look forward to our next stop on the Baseball Youth Road Trip 2K8.
